Investors Visa counseling & support in the U.S.
The fast track to an U.S. visa or a green card through investment.
Right now it is the perfect time to get an American Green Card or U.S. visa by investment.
Given that the euro / dollar ratio is favorable and in many areas of the U.S. properties are offered at very reasonable prices, the road to a green card through an investor visa is much more advantageous than ever before.
There are two different visa types which lead to a visa or a green card through an investment :
1. EB-5 Visa / Investor Visa / Green Card through Investment
The green card through investment is an immigration visa, meaning a permanent residence and work permit. Spouses and children of the green card holder will also receive a green card. The EB-5 investor visa is the most flexible way to permanently live and work in the U.S. by investmeny. It is possible to start a new company or to invest into an existing business which already has been established. It is possible for the EB-5 investors to remain a minority owner and don't need to be active in the business itself, but also could actively be involved managing the company. The flexibility of the EB-5 visa allows the investor and his family to live their life in the US according to their desire.
The EB-5 visa / green card can be granted if the investment is $ 500,000 or $ 1 million, depending on the area. Normally, an investment of$ 1 million (about € 695,000 on 6/20/11) and the creation of ten new jobs is necessary for the grant of a EB-5 visa. In certain defined regions or by investing into Government approved Regional Center only a total investment of of$ 500 000 (approximately € 348,000 on 6/20/11) is required to apply for a green card.
After the grant of a investor green card the applicant receives a 'conditional' Green Card valid for two years. After two years the green card holder is required to prove that the investment still exists and that ten jobs were created. Subsequently the green card holder receives his permanent green card and is free to sell its investment or share as he pleases.
2. E-2 visa / Visa through Investment
For smaller companies, there is a second visa, which works with a convincing business plan and a significantly lower investment. For the E-2 visa the amount of the investment is not fixed but it depends on the type and extent of the company and the expected profits. In any case, there must be an investment made, active business operations performed and jobs created. When applying for a E-2 Visa, the investor must conduct an executive role in the company and prove that he has special skills or education for this leading job. The investment must generate not only the livelihood of the investor and his family.
An E-2 visa is issued initially for a period of five years. If the company still exists and the investor is activily involved in a managerial role, the visa will be extended in specific time periods. This visa falls under the category of 'non-immigrant visas' and very rarely leads to the Green Card.
